Wales coach Ryan Giggs will speak to Gareth Bale to see whether he can perform in Monday’s friendly against Belarus, hinting he won’t be”stupid” about the Real Madrid forward’s fitness.
Bale, who also scored the winning goal in the 2-1 win over Azerbaijan on Friday, trained with the squad on Sunday morning and Giggs will discuss whether his talisman can be engaged”either from the start or away from the bench” from Belarus.
“He has got a big game the next Wednesday from Paris Saint-Germain away, I will speak to Gareth afterwards,” Giggs said.
“He has performed three 90 minutes today, or almost 90 minutes in his past Real Madrid game. We are going to examine it.
“He looked fit another night, he was everywhere, working hard, sprinting back – it was superb. He’s the example.
“We won’t treat it like an exercise session but he would not have done anything else and today if he was not going to participate. We’ll see if he can play a role in the match, in the beginning or coming on as a sub.
“We are not being stupid, as well. Given that he’s two weeks behind everybody. He’s not got seven or six matches in him.”
Giggs says that he knows the criticism directed at him after his negative made it late to grab a win against Azerbaijan, but advised fans not to expect successes as he gets to grips with his.
“The difficulty was that it had been really good or really bad, we have to balance this.”

Meanwhile, Bale himself insisted he was still fit and available for selection, and also the 30-year-old is confident Giggs’ men can qualify for Euro 2020.
He said:”I would not be here wasting my time when I did not think we could (qualify). I think the fans think we can do it – and we want them as our 12th man.”
Bale considers Wales are progressing under Giggs and included:”We’re working hard on enhancing. We’ve played in some games than others.”
