Roma have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign a season-long loan deal with midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The team may pay the salary of the 30-year-old along with a loan fee, but there is no option or obligation to get the international.
Mkhitaryan joined the Gunners at a swap deal involving Chile forward Alexis Sanchez in Manchester United at January 2018.
He has scored two goals in 59 appearances for Arsenal.
Mkhitaryan featured as a second-half replacement in Sunday’s 2-2 north west London derby draw however, has travelled to the Italian capital to finalise his movement.
His playing time at Emirates Stadium was supposed to be limited this year and Arsenal boss Unai Emery intends to utilize his passing for a opportunity to give more moments to players.
Even the Premier League club also remain open to allowing defender Shkodran Mustafi proceed before Monday’s transfer deadline – although it appears unlikely that the German will depart.
