Owner Philip Reynolds has mooted That the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown as a starting point for Presenting Percy.

Even the eight-year-old was sent off favourite for the Gold Cup but with had only one prior outing over hurdlesthat he would only finish eighth.
Issues were discovered which prevented him but those have been resolved.
Reynolds advised the Irish Field:”It’s a case of so far, really good. Pat (Kelly, coach ) and Jerry Kelly (vet) are satisfied with him and as soon as they are glad that will do me.
“He had a small procedure to remove fluid out of his back and I do not know whether that had something to do with the way he conducted at Cheltenham. We also discovered he had post Cheltenham.
“He is starting off the season just like everybody else and the fact is that he might just be”a different horse”.
“This time last year I could not lie straight in bed with excitement. I believe that the best chance a horse has of winning a Gold Cup would be after their newcomer season. Now he will be meeting all last seasons beginners, together with Al Boum Photo, thus we’ll just need to find out where he matches.
“it is a little early to say where he will start back. Hopefully we’ll get started before Christmas, but what has to be ideal for him.
“Clonmel will come too soon for himas will Down Royal, so I suppose you may be taking a look at exactly the John Durkan in Punchestown. Then remains to be noticed, where he would go there is a good deal of water to go under the bridge before then.
“I just hope we do not have another winter like last season – the floor was quick all winter and also a repeat would be a disaster.”
