Head coach Eddie Jones is convinced that because they prepare for Thursday’s game against the USA, four days after fighting past Tonga, his reshuffled England team will deal with their short turnaround.
Just five of the team away out of Sunday’s 35-3 win in their opening World Cup game are currently keeping their places.
“We have done a reasonable bit of homework to this turnaround,” Jones told BBC Sport.
“We trialled a four-day turnaround against Japan last autumn, to guarantee the players have experience of it.”
George Ford captains both at 10, with Billy Vunipola chosen again in eight and you will find World Cup debuts for wingers Ruaridh McConnochie and Joe Cokanasiga plus centre Piers Francis.
Speaking to the BBC’s Rugby Union Weekly podcast, Jones added:”We have looked at choice pretty carefully, seemed at the gamers who could back up and who could not back up.
“We have attempted to work out that players require a rest. Each participant is different – some players want a longer time to recuperate, and some are a lot better off when they are in shape to continue.”
Though they were laboured appearing strong in defence but creating 14 handling errors england secured a four-try bonus-point win in the Sapporo Dome.
Conditions in the Kobe Misaki arena are inclined to be like last weekend, the roof shut for the match here rather than a construction but the humidity indoors still noticeable to those utilized to autumns.
The home of Top League soccer team Kobelco Steelers also as soccer club Vissel Kobe, the present team of former Barcelona and Spain excellent Andres Iniesta, has the potential of just over 30,000, with England fans increasingly visible on the streets of town during the last few days.
Jones had explained facing the USA starting XV because”like facing 15 Donald Trumps” in that he expects one to come out”all guns blazing” but South African trainer Gary Gold, who’s also coached London Irish, Newcastle and Bath as well as the Steelers, has opted for the more recognizable skills of eight England established players.
Harlequins’ Paul Lasike starts at inside-centre, Saracens’ Titi Lamositele at prop and Sale’s AJ MacGinty at fly-half.
The 29-year-old MacGinty had a fantastic album off the tee for Sale last year, landing 83% of his shots at goal, while full-back Will Hooley is just yet another familiar name to fans of the Premiership, the former England under-20s man having had spells at Northampton Saints along with Exeter Chiefs before falling down into Bedford Blues from the Championship.
England’s defence coach John Mitchell coached the Eagles to July 2017 from early 2016, helping them qualify for this particular World Cup.
And Jones has been picking the brains of his assistant as England look to find a fluency that evaded them into their slot machine.
Jones explained:”We’ve spoke to Mitch about the psychology of the group, the way they approach their matches, the psychology of some of their players.
“They are certainly playing with a different type of game to the one they used to perform .
“I coached from the USA a reasonable bit of Japan and they were a much looser, athletic group.
“They’re now a much more pragmatic team, a team which kicks the ball a good deal, with a sharp operator in MacGinty in 10, who our boys know fairly well.”
Veteran prop Dan Cole will acquire his cap at tight-head to go joint-third with Jonny Wilkinson on England men’s all-time record , scrum-half Ben Youngs if he comes off the bench as expected joining him.
Cole was made from Jones’ squad this year but is back in his third World Cup, combined with Youngs along with Courtney Lawes.
Jones stated:”We had a variety of discussions, and I am really proud of the way Dan has struggled his way backagain.
“At one point it was likely to be difficult for him to go to the World Cup.
“We gave him a range of things he had to work , he went away and worked them exceptionally hard, so it’s a great accomplishment for him and his family.
“To receive 91 caps tight-head for your nation – particularly England, that will be this type of scrummaging powerhouse – gives an indication of his influence in the game.”
Ford is enjoying a series of begins at fly-half, having sat on the seat through the Six Nations as Jones favorite Owen Farrell in 10.
But his two starts within this tournament don’t mean that he will get the identical chance once the sterner evaluations of Argentina and France come in the two games, according to his trainer.
“You must read a whole lot into it George is the best 10 for the USA match,” he said.
“He only keeps growing as a player, as do a range of those players.
“That’s what I am most impressed about with our team – there is a true thirst within the team to improve, and George is in the head of this queue pushing that forward.”
England have won all five of their previous encounters with the USA, beating against them in the World Cups of 1987, 1991 and 2007.
