His mother and england all-rounder Ben Stokes have launched legal actions against The Sun newspaper after it published a narrative reporting from over three years ago.
The cricketer lambasted the paper when it printedextremely painful, sensitive and personal information about his family last month, beating it asentirely disgusting.
Proceedings at the High Court were filed in September 30, based on Byline Investigates, according to News Group Newspapers (NGN) – The Suns parent firm.
The case is listed as a intellectual property claim related to copyright.
A representative of this Sun declined to comment.
The story on September 17 concerned a family catastrophe between the 28-year-olds mother, Deborah Stokes, some 31 years ago.
In a post on Twitter – which received tens of thousands of retweets, likes and supportive comments – Stokes reported a reporter had turned up in his parents home in New Zealandout of the blue to inquire them concerning the tragedy.
The Sun responded that it had contacted Stokes before printing the article andat no stage did he or his agents ask us not to print the story.
It noted the few along with the cricketer had dropped to comment.
